The Titan by Vapehead Origins

*phew* It's been a while since my last post. I've been really busy at work and I totally forgot about this blog. So, I have a lot of things to catch up. So, where do I start... Ah! Yes. My last post was finding the Finding the Perfect Mod, so for an update I give you, the Titan by Vapehead Origins.

So what can I say about this mod? Solid.

The Titan is an aluminum telescopic personal vaporizer with copper negative and positive pins and unique and easy locking mechanism.

I've held several mods for the past few months and I can say that aluminum is the mod for me. Yes, I know you really have to take good care of it since aluminum is more prone to dents compared to stainless steel or brass mods. But one thing I like about it is the power, because we all know aluminum is better in conductivity compared to ss and it's lightweight so I don't find it too heavy when I put it on its Aegis clip and hang it around my neck.

There is an issue with the Titan's finish though. I was one of the lucky ones in the third batch that got the Titan. Its original finish is a nickel plated finish (the one shown in the image above). The problem with it is the plating fades, so what they did on the third batch is they gave it a sandblasted nickel-plated finish to resolve the issues on fading but... after a few weeks, a lot of those units suffered bubbling of the plating.

The best thing about Vapehead Origins is their after sales support. For those who have these kind of problems with the finish, they offered them strip-to-metal free of charge. So the recent batches now have bare aluminum finish, no nickel plating.

And just, I think, a month ago they released upgrades for the Titans. They're now offering brass topcaps and brass firing buttons with custom engraved. Add to that are the anodized sleeves/body tubes. They currently have red, blue, black, goldish orange, gold, green, pink and clear anodized sleeves.

You can order these upgrades through their website, vapeheadorigins.com.

What else can I add... ah yes, the performance. I've been using this mod for months now and I'm really satisfied with it that I didn't have any plans on selling it to buy a new one. Luckily, I didn't have the bubble issue and even if do have, they're just pimples to me and I just call it a battle scar!

Even when I'm vaping at 3.2volts the Titan is still firing incredibly and can still produce huge vapors. The only time you'll find out that your battery is running low is when it actually doesn't fire anymore. So if you ask me if I'll ever replace my Titan? Never... but I didn't say I can't add a new mod like, let's say Cronus by Vapehead Origins? Hahaha!

Finding the Perfect Mod

I'm craving for a bigger gun now. Sure my mini pv already satisfies me but of course I want to try something bigger... and the search is on!

There are actually plenty of candidates to choose from. Big names like ProVari, GGTS, Juggernaut etc. Problem is, those mods are too expensive for our budget.

I've been browsing for days and have found some nice mods that I personally like. UDC SE SS by Underdog Customs, Mortar v5 by EMI, Curves by APV. I'm more inclined in buying Pinoy Mods for several reasons. One, because I'm pinoy and I want to support my fellow pinoy. Two, the quality of pinoy mods are actually great as well. Three, it's easier to contact the modders since they're just a few kilometers drive away just in case there's a problem with the unit.

Out of the three mods, the UDC Pro has a bigger appeal to me. I've been holding myself from ordering coz I wanted my wife's approval first since it's actually her weddig anniversary gift to me. Another thing that's been bugging me is the issue with the mod, missfires and heating of the firing pin. The modders said they're gonna release a better version of the firing pin so that's what I was actually waiting for.

My mind has already been set in getting the UDC Pro SS or Aluminum version until I saw the Titan. The Titan v1.5 is created by VapeHead. I really love how this beast looks. The lock feature is quite unique, not the typical screw type lock found on most fullmech mods. And based on the test they made, this thing has 0.01 voltage drop.

I quickly fell in love with the Titan. Unfortunately, all resellers have ran out if stock. So I have to wait for the 3rd batch. But it bothered me when they officially announced that there's only gonna be 200units to be released this february.

So last sunday, I went to W Vape Otis to reserve a unit! I really want to have one before we go to Laguna. I really hope I could get the serial # 127. It's gonna be perfect if VHO can grant my request, it's signifies Jan. 27 our wedding anniversary it will really mean a lot to me and my wife.

Now that I'm just waiting for my Titan to arrive, I kinda feel bad everytime I see a UDC Pro mod. It feels like I've cheated the mod. Lol. Hopefully in the future I can save up money and buy a UDC Pro since I really love the aesthetics of the mod and hopefully by that time they've already mastered the mod and reinvent a better version.

The Two Weeks Mark

Alright, I've reached my two weeks mark. It's like what, day 19th? This is more than just a simple addiction now, I think I kinda love vaping. For some, vaping is like their way to stop smoking and eventually they will quit vaping as well. But for others, it's more than that.

A while ago I watched one of GrimmGreen's video about this matter. For him, vaping is his "alternative" to smoking. And his goal is to stay away from smoking and he'll continue to vape. As for me, vaping have been a totally different experience and it's more than just a "way to quit smoking" or an "alternative way for smoking".

My sister and my cousin vapes, too. But that's about it. When my wife got me an eGo type pv, I quickly browsed for mote info and I've found one thing. There's actually a vaping community which continues to grow. A community that helps each other. It's a community that shares a hobby and that is vaping.

Zeus Rebuildable Atomizer: Success!

Day 14

Okay, after quite a few attempts (3 failures actually), I finally rebuilt my Zeus atty from E-Pipes. It's not perfect yet coz I think this is around 2ohms resistance and judging by my CE5 and LR atty, my sweet spot is around 1.6-1.8 ohms. This vapor is too cold for me, but atleast it's working! I doesn't have a bad taste, the vapor's just so-so but I'm still proud that after a few attempts at rebuilding it I finally made a pretty decent, working Zeus.

Next time, I think I need to buy a new multimeter tester. The one I'm using is an old one and it's pretty complicated and kinda buggy coz it's giving a different reading every time I move the wires. And I hope by the end of February I can buy myself a full mechanical mod, I want to add a bigger better than the one I'm using.

Taming the Zeus

Day 13

So I tried rebuilding the Zeus. The problem here is, first my multimeter tester is pretty difficult to use, second I'm not sure of the size of the silica and kanthal I'm using (forgot to ask the shop). But the silica is pretty thick as well as the kanthal.

  • 1 strand, 5 loops = Fail. Resistance definitely too low, at around .7-.9
  • 2 strands, 5 loops = Fail. Resistance at around .9-1ohms. My target is 1.6-1.8
  • 3 strands, 6 loops = Fail. Vapor's too cold. And it has a pretty weird taste. Resistance is around 2.2-2.4
Try again next time.

Vape I Love

Day 12

I went to Sto Nino, the next village near our subdivision. My wife said she saw two vape shops. So I bought a silica and wire set for 120php. I don't think it's a good buy but I have no choice, it's the nearest shop. But goodie, I found a shop selling Clouds of Icarus ejuices for 200php the shop's called Vape I Love. It's not really a shop, it's a small stall in front of a motorcycle repair shop. I also bought my pv an eGo lace, now I can be like a dog with a lace on the neck. Hehe. Vape on!

Zeus is Dead

Day 9

Ugh.. my Zeus is totally dead. I disassembled it. I need to learn now how to rebuild (that's the purpose of a rebuildable right?)

The Greek God Zeus: A Rebuildable Atomizer

Day 8

Family day again, we went back to SM Fairview. Me, my kid, my wife and my big sister and my niece. My wife promised to buy me a new drip tip. Upon entering, we immediately separated away from my sister.  I don't want her to know I'm on to vaping.. long story.

So there we were talking to the guy in E-Pipes and I asked him what are their rebuildable atomizers available. He introduced me to Zeus. I asked him of course the if it's better than the Hornet RA (Since I'm a noob). He said it depends on the build of course and the Zeus is all SS and no need to upgrade thingies-blah-blah. I really didn't understand all that he's said. LOL. Then a nice guy told me that it's a good atomizer for its price and showed me the Zeus he's using in his PV.

The conversation went on and then we decided to buy driptip. I think it's made aluminum? Coz it's surely not stainless steel. But anyway I liked it.

After eating dinner, I left my sister and my wife at the mall coz I need to vape. When I went back in, my wife's smiling and she was waiting for me by the entrance. Then she handed me over a small paper bag. When I checked it.. boom! There he was, MY ZEUS! She bought it for me! Wii~! I'm pretty happy with this guy, it's throwing a good punch that I kept on chain vaping. I kept in opening and closing it, seeing how it works and then... it suddenly tasted bitter. Like a burnt taste. I said to myself maybe I'm just lacking juice but no, I think I ruined the build or something. *sigh*

Mom's Birthday

Day 6

Happy Birthday to my Mom!

We went to SM Fairview (again) to celebrate my mother's birthday. While waiting for our order I walked around, I was gonna check GreenPuff when I noticed at the ground floor a vape shop, The Vape Company. Radar on!

I went back and we ate our lunch then me and my wife checked on the shop. Ooh.. Dekang ejuices! Now, I've heard so much about the Dekang RY4 so I can't just let it pass. I bought one bottle, I was supposed to try their butterscotch but they ran out of 6mg nic bottles (Yes, I'm on low nic ejuices).

Oh and after a few walks around the mall, I found out that there's two E-Pipes vape shop. One in the annex lower lower ground and one in the main building near the back entrance.

When I got home, I took my LR atty and put on 3 drops and vaped. Wow, to tell you honestly after vaping the flavor I don't think I'll be able to vape my wild west juice anymore. This is probably gonna be a favorite.

More More Water

Day 5

Ugh... Last night was a mess. I woke up at around 3:00 am and I feel my sore's aching or.. I can't really explain the feeling. I took my phone and research about sore throat and the negative effects of vaping and it turns out, vaping dehydrates you a lot. So I need plenty of water!

Still... gonna keep on vaping and NO to smoking!

The Addiction Begins

Day 4

So.. The addiction began. Hehe. We went back to SM Fairview to buy a gift for my wonderful mom. Since we're already at the mall, we stopped by E-Shots again and bought StrawBanana and SubZero. Oh, and I bought a stainless steel driptip to match the color of my PV.

When I got home, I tried the StrawBanana and it was awesome! Though it's a bit plain and I feel like there's something missing. Ahh.. the throat hit. I bought a 0mg nic StrawBanana flavor to know how it differs from a 6mg ejuice. But all in all, it's good. Then I tried the SubZero and boom! It was a blast of fresh mentholy sensation down my throat plus a good scratch. It was superb. The only problem that I got with this is I can't use it on my tank since the tank can't handle too much menthol.

I think I'm gonna try more flavors. Hehe. Keep on vaping!

Vaping: My New Hobby

Day 1

My wife bought me a starter kit at E-Shots, I think they called it Delta M4. It came with a 510 LR atomizer, a driptip, a phone-type USB charger, a pouch and a bottle of Wild West 6mg nic ejuice. The terms like 510 atomizer, driptip and ejuice; I didn't know these when we bought the kit. Here's the story.

My wife's keep on asking me what I wanted for our upcoming wedding anniversary and I told her, "I don't know." So while we're walking and window-shopping at the SM Fairview mall, a spark of idea came to me. I asked my wife, "Mommy, eh kung vaporizer nalang kaya? Pwede?" She just smiled and asked, "Bakit?" and I told her instead of smoking another stick of cigarette I'll just use the vaporizer. One reason this idea came up to my mind is because the last time I met my sister, she was carrying an eGo PV.

So saw the E-Shots stall, asked the lady about the details of a vaporizer. I saw a bunch of PV's displayed but my eyes were focused on the smallest one. The lady said things that to me are a bit gibberish. I got really really excited so we bought it on the spot. I also bought a tank which they called a CE4 on the receipt (which to me, a CE5). When I got home I researched all about vaping and I was blown away! I didn't know there was so much stuff about vaping like atomizer, rebuilding atomizers, volts, ohms, ejuices, full mechanical, variable volts PV etc. And I was officially hooked.

Decided to never touch an analog again and to keep on vaping!
